Popular fashion trend drives sales of cosmetic lenses in Malaysia: GfK
Kuala Lumpur, 17 June, 2013 – Cosmetic lens is increasingly popular with today’s fashionable crowd as such lenses have become an important fashion accessory these days. Malaysia’s beauty contact lens is rapidly gaining grounds among the young and trendy; especially those living in the urban areas. Latest GfK retail audit report revealed that retail sales of beauty contact lenses continues on its rise, raking in a high of USD 19.9 million in the most recent twelve months ending April 2013—a staggering growth of 31 percent versus a year ago.

14 June, 2013, HONG KONG — Rising ownership of the three screens—personal computers, smartphones and media tablets in Hong Kong has made online shopping more convenient and accessible today. While personal computers are the most common platform used for online shopping with over 4 in 5 online shoppers said they have used either their laptop or desktop computer to make purchases; more than half used smartphones and 40 percent have done so using their media tablets. It is interesting to highlight that Gen Y adoption of smartphone for online shopping is highest.

Table top audio docks gaining popularity in Singapore: GfK
11 June 2013, SINGAPORE – The growing demand and intensifying penetration of smart mobile devices have directly given rise to the popularity of table top audio docks. Consumers in Singapore have spent over USD 4.1 million on nearly 30,000 units of such audio docks in the last 12 months—the highest demand in the last three years. This reflects an increase in consumer purchases by 6 percent in volume, raising the value of the total market by 18 percent over the previous year.

The latest and more sophisticated laptop models such as the ultra-thin and hybrid types which come packed with advanced features in slimmer frames are becoming increasingly popular with Korean consumers, making up 24 percent of total laptop volume sales—a 170 percent surge from the previous year.
