The total Technical Consumer Goods (TCG) market monitored by GfK TEMAX during the fourth quarter of 2011 moved into positive ground, recording growth of 6.2%. The Telecommunications (Telco) sector performed extremely well, recording 15.1% growth over the fourth quarter of 2010. Revenues for Q4 2011 amounted to just over ZAR 11.18 billion, up 6.2% from ZAR 10.53 billion from the corresponding period of last year. The annual development was still negative, -0.4%. However, this is a strong performance considering economic pressures and market conditions throughout the year. The base year for compari-son was also buoyed by the FIFA Football World Cup which made annual growth difficult to achieve.
