Worldwide consumer expenditure on Technical Consumer Equipment to total $678bn USD in 2008

GfK, in joint collaboration with the CEA, announce a healthy global Technical Consumer Equipment (TCE) market in 2008 and forecast into 2009.

Report highlights:

• GfK/CEA forecasts healthy growth of 9.4% in 2008 over 2007.
• 2008 TCE growth will come mainly from BRIC countries.
• In 2008 the Asia and Oceanic region will grow by 16.5% in value.
• The mature markets such as North America and Western Europe will witness a slowdown in 2008.
• GfK/CEA forecasts moderate growth of 6.2% in 2009.
• Consumers will spend $42 billion USD more on TCE in 2009 than in 2008.
