ECO Reporting - energy efficiency tracking

Climate change and rising energy costs have made energy efficiency a hot topic. For the industry this means competition for optimal energy efficient devices will intensify:

• The energy costs arising from product use will lead to a shift in the nature of price competition, which up to now has exclusively been operated on a purchase price level.
• The energy efficiency level of a device will have a higher impact on consumers' purchase decisions than in the past.
• There will be more and stricter consumption limits defined by legislation.
• Retailers will try to differentiate themselves positively from their competition in terms of being more eco friendly and will in turn heighten pressure on their industry partners.

In order to make the right decisions in view of these challenges, there is an urgent need for relevant, reliable and up-to-date knowledge. Only GfK Retail and Technology can combine energy-related figures and market facts into a meaningful and real time energy efficiency report. Market facts are based upon our representative global Retail Panel with detailed information to a single model level. The energy consumption relevant facts are based upon official information published by manufacturers.

• Brand level: Energy consumption index vs. total market running report energy consumption
